Linneus Sno-Sports Trail Report - March 24, 2008

Trails have so much snow on them… I think we’ll be riding until late April or even May this year, but…. we are cutting back on the grooming so that we can make it until the water holes start opening up, halting any further grooming. This pretty much means only after major storms, or just before the weekend starts Spring conditions are going to start showing up any day now, (I keep saying that, but the nighttime temps are colder now than they were back in January! )  so get out there and enjoy the extended season that everyone has been has been wanting for the last few years! .

ITS 83: Open and groomed all the way from Houlton to the Island Falls-Oakfield turnarounds. Beaver Brook Rd is no longer groomed between ITS 83 and Trail 61. Groomed 3/23.

Trail 87: Open and groomed from Linneus, at its intersection with ITS 83, to Hodgdon and on to the meeting point in Houlton with the Meduxnekeag Ramblers SC. Groomed 3/23. Fields only groomed 1 lane at this time due to drifts, please use care!

Trail 9: Open and groomed from ITS 83 in Houlton to Connector Trail 87 in Hodgdon. Groomed 3/23. Fields only groomed 1 lane at this time due to drifts, please use care!

Trail 10: closed for the 07-08 season.

Connector Trail 105 (Pipeline): Open and groomed all the way from the intersection with ITS 83, all the way through to where East Grand SC in Danforth picks up at the Outhouse. There is a little section between the Trail 3 and Trail 61B intersections that is only done with sled groomers, as there are a couple of wet spots that are questionable for the larger equipment. This stretch is only 1-2 miles in length, and then beautiful again. It shouldn’t be in too bad of shape. Groomed 3/23.

The Haynesville Spur/Benn Trail (Trail 1 to Molunkus): Open and groomed all the way to the Rt. 2a Highway Bridge in Haynesville, enabling sledders to access Trail 1 of the Eastern Maine Snow Riders, south of the Rt. 2a Highway Bridge. Groomed 3/23.

Alternate 105 (Soldier Hill Trail): closed for the Rest of the 07-08 season.

Trail 61 (Lambert Trail): Open but only groomed from ITS 83 all the way to the intersection with Trail 61 B on 3/23. We have no plans to groom the rest of Trail 61 any more, this late in the season.

Trail 61B (Ten Mile Brook Rd): Open and groomed from Trail 61 to Connector Trail 105. Groomed 3/23.

Trail 8 South of Drew’s Lake: closed for the 07-08

The section east of the intersection with Trail 70 to Bartlett's Store in Orient will be open and done with sled groomers as time allows.
